Metric Element Screen

The following image shows the fields on the Metric Element screen when selecting any Element Types prefixed with Opportunities

Screen Element

Description

Element Type

This drop-down provides options for defining the dashboard element, as shown on the right. When an option is selected from the list, the other parameters below the field that define the dashboard dial change based on the value selected.

Search View

This field is only available when the “[Select Advanced Search]” value is selected in the Element Type field.  In this case, the dashboard dial will be based on a numeric field's record count or aggregation for a search list in Aspire.  This field provides a drop-down of all saved search lists grouped by the search list name.   When a search list is selected from this drop-down, Aspire populates the drop-down for the Value field with all the numeric fields from the selected search list.

Value

This field is only available when the Select Advanced Search value is selected in the Element Type field.  The drop-down for this field contains one entry for Record Count and the field name of each numeric field available in the search list selected in the Search View field. If you select the entry Record Count, the number represented by the dashboard element will be the number of records returned by the search list.  If you select one of the available numeric fields, Aspire displays the Value Aggregation field allowing you to determine how the number for the dashboard dial will be calculated.

Value Aggregation

This field is only available if you select one of the numeric fields in the Value field. It allows you to determine how the number for the dashboard dial will be calculated. Valid values that can be selected in this field are; Average, Max, Min, or Sum.

Display Name

The name is shown for the dashboard element on the Home screen.

Display Type Choose how you want to display metric data.

Shared With Users

This multi-select field allows the dashboard to be shared with one or more users. It is only available if you have System Admin permission. When the dashboard is shared with users, it will be displayed for those users, and it will be in a read-only mode; they will be able to refresh it but not edit or delete it. The dashboard creator is the only person who can update a shared dashboard element.

Shared With Role

This multi-select field allows the dashboard to be shared with one or more roles. It is only available if you have a System Admin permission. When the dashboard is shared with a role, the dashboard will be displayed for those users belonging to the specified role. For those users, it will be in a read-only mode – they will be able to refresh it but not edit it or delete it. The dashboard creator is the only person who can update a shared dashboard element.

Branch

Only available for Element Types prefixed with “Leads” or Opportunities.  The considered opportunity records should be limited to those in the specified branch. The opportunity’s branch is determined by its branch override value if specified, and if not, then the branch of the property.

Division

Only available for Element Types prefixed with Opportunities. The considered opportunity records should be limited to those in the specified division.

Sales Rep

This field is only available when the Select Score Card value is selected in the Element Type field.  The field provides a drop-down of all employees from which to select a sales rep.  When the Sales Rep is selected, the Score Card field drop-down is populated based on the valid sales scorecards defined for the sales rep.

Score Cards

This field is only available when the Select Score Card value is selected in the Element Type field.  When a value is selected in the Sales Rep field, the drop-down list for the Score Card is populated with scorecards defined on the Scorecards tab of the Contact screen. For Scorecard dashboard elements, a value is required in this field.

Score Card Type

This field is only available when the Select Score Card value is selected in the Element Type field.  The dropdown allows the selection of one of two values: Proposed or Closed. Selecting Proposed indicates that the number of the dashboard element represents the dollars in the revenue proposed during the specified period.  Selecting Closed indicates that the number of the dashboard element represents the dollars in revenue won during the specified period.

Period

This field is available for all Element Types except for Select Advanced Search. It provides a drop-down list allowing you to specify a time period. The time period specifies which data records are considered in constructing the number represented by the dashboard element.

Goal Override

Allows you to specify a numeric value representing a target for the KPI.  This field is used with the Goal Range % field to display a green bar highlighting the target range for the KPI. The desire is for the arrow to point within the range of the green bar.

Goal Range %

Allows you to specify a numeric percent value indicating a percent of the Goal Override that defines the target range for the goal.  This field is used in conjunction with the Goal Override field to display a green bar highlighting the target range for the KPI.  The desire is for the arrow to point within the range of the green bar.

Goal Override Dial Display

Observe the following information regarding how the modification of this field impacts the dial display:

  • If you do not assign a value to the goal override field, the corresponding dial gauge reading will only display in grayscale, and the real-time data will be segmented by quarters.
  • Suppose you set a goal override value without setting a goal range percentage - the goal override value you set will be displayed beneath the gauge reading in red font. In that case, the real-time goal value will be displayed in the middle above the gauge reading. You will see a minimum gauge reading value of zero; the maximum value will automatically double the amount of the goal value.
    • If you have not reached the goal value you have set, you will see the dial shaded in yellow, and if you have reached or exceeded the goal, the dial will be shaded in green.
  • If you set both a goal override value and a goal range percentage, the minimum gauge reading will be zero, and the maximum gauge reading will be double the amount of the goal value.  The real-time goal value will be set at the top middle portion of the gauge reading. The goal override value will be beneath the gauge reading in red font.
    •  The color yellow within the gauge reading indicates a value at the lower boundary of the goal range.
    • The color blue within the gauge reading indicates a value between the lower and upper boundary.
    • The color green within the gauge reading indicates a value about the goal range.

Display Type

You can display data in metric dials in the following ways:

  • Progress Bar
  • Number Only
  • Gauge Reading

Refer to the following graph if you need help deciding on the display type for your metric data.

Opportunities Metric Screen

This list of opportunities metric widgets display a symbol to indicate if the metric value is a currency or a proportion:

  • Close Rate (%)
  • Closed Lost PTD ($)
  • Closed Won PTD ($)
  • Period Sales Forecast ($)
  • Proposed PTD ($)

When you choose [Select Advanced Search] element type with a Display Type of Number Only, a percentage or currency symbol will also be displayed, given the field selected.
