Both contracts and work orders represent agreements with customers for the company to perform work. ## Contract A contract is one of two types of opportunities – the other type being a Work Order. Contracts are used for recurring jobs to be performed over a time period and can be renewed from year-to-year. Contracts allow the user to add [optional services](https://youraspire.document360.io/docs/optional-services) to the proposal that they give to the customer. If the customer decides to purchase the optional service, they will create a separate [work order](/docs/es/opportunity-types#a1) to manage the work. ### Work Order A work order is one of two types of opportunities – the other type being a Contract. Work orders are used for one-time jobs that do not have recurring schedules.
