Opportunity templates provide a basis for creating new opportunities based on information for opportunities you have created in the past.
Opportunity templates are created by first creating a normal opportunity and then choosing to save it as a template. Once a template has been created, it can be located using the Opportunity Templates Search List screen. From there, you can display the Opportunity Template screen from which the template can be edited. Opportunity templates are also available when creating new opportunities to be selected as the basis for the new opportunity.
The Opportunity Templates Search List screen behaves like other allowing you to display and filter information to provide the most value in various situations.
The Opportunity Template screen allows you save default information that will be filled into a newly created opportunity based on the template. This screen is accessed by selecting a template from the Opportunity Template Search List screen.
It behaves the same as the Opportunity screen except that instead of modifying an opportunity, you are modifying a template upon which new opportunities may be based. For field descriptions, see the Opportunity screen.
