Custom Columns for Estimating

Aspire provides the ability to include custom columns on the Estimate screen to provide additional information that will assist a company’s estimating process. This section shows some sample custom columns for context and explains how to set up those columns in Admin.

Establishing Custom Columns

Estimate custom columns are established from the new Manage Estimate Custom Columns  icon available on the Administration screen under the Estimating group. This icon is only available for users who have the Manage Custom Columns permission assigned to their role.

Custom columns can be created based on a select list of fields available at the service or item level:

• Service Item Quantity
• Labor Extended Cost
• Material Extended Cost
• Equipment Extended Cost
• Sub Extended Cost
• Other Extended Cost
• Extended Cost
• Extended Price
• Estimated Hours
• Labor Profit
• Material Profit
• Sub Profit
• Equipment Profit
• Other Profit
• Labor Overhead
• Material Overhead
• Sub Overhead
• Equipment Overhead
• Other Overhead

In addition to the data values listed above, formulas for custom columns can include takeoff values defined.

Estimate custom columns can be defined by directly using the above fields or by incorporating the above fields into a mathematical formula. Each estimate custom column is defined to apply either to work orders, or to contracts, or to both.
