Throughout Aspire, you can add attachments to various elements: contacts, users, properties, site audits, opportunities, work tickets, issues, emails, etc. This section highlights information on the following topics:
- Taking photos from Windows devices to add as attachments
- Specifying image file size for underlying attachments
Taking Photos from Windows Devices
Most mobile devices provide a built-in mechanism to take photos when adding attachments. For Windows devices, Aspire provides a special mechanism to take photos using the camera.
The Attachments screen, available for contacts, users, properties, site audits, opportunities, work tickets, issues, and emails, provides a Take a Picture icon. Clicking this icon activates the camera on the Windows PC to take a photo to be added as an attachment.
Image Attachments Size
Aspire allows you to attach images and documents to properties, opportunities, work tickets, and emails. The maximum attachment file size that Aspire allows is 30MB.
When photo images are attached, Aspire allows them to specify the image size as one of four values: small, medium, large, and actual. It is to their benefit to select the smallest image that will serve the purpose since smaller images will display quicker on devices.
The maximum dimensions of a file converted to a specific size are shown in the table below. The “actual” size is determined by how the original photo was taken and can vary widely.
File Size | Max Width (pixels) | Max Height (pixels) |
Small | 320 | 240 |
Medium | 640 | 480 |
Large | 1632 | 1224 |
Actual | Determined by original |
The following image shows the relative size of images saved as small, medium, and large for an image whose original dimensions were 3024 pixels wide by 4032 pixels high. The dimensions of the small image are 180 pixels wide by 240 pixels wide. Notice that to keep the height within the 320 X 240 box defined for the small size while maintaining the proper proportions of the original photo, the width must be smaller than the maximum allowed 320 pixels.
The following chart shows the dimension and file sizes for each image to guide users in selecting image sizes.
| Small | Medium | Large | Actual |
Width (Pixels) | 180 | 360 | 918 | 3024 |
Height (Pixels) | 240 | 480 | 1224 | 4032 |
File Size (Kilobytes) | 12.9 KB | 44.6 KB | 247 KB | 3,660 KB |
