Impact of Opportunity Status on Signature Experience

  • PDF

Article summary

Typically, sales reps will send proposals to customers once the estimate is complete and the proposal has been approved – that is, the opportunity status is Approved. In this case, the signature process transpires as described above.

If the proposal has not yet been approved, the proposal can still be sent to the customer. However, when the customer clicks on the hyperlink to initiate an electronic signature, the proposal will be displayed with a DRAFT watermark, and the Sign Proposal button will not be available. Once the opportunity estimate has been approved, the customer can use the same link, and they will be able to electronically sign the proposal.

If the sales rep marks the opportunity as WON before the customer has electronically signed the proposal, Aspire assumes that the customer has provided a paper signature. Thus, the customer can no longer electronically sign the proposal. When they navigate to the electronic signature screen from the email hyperlink and authenticate, the proposal will be displayed, but the Sign Proposal button will not be available.
