Article summary

The Master Schedule of Values screen consolidates the schedule of values defined for the work order and its change orders that have been won. It allows you to modify or restructure the schedule of values at any time. However, you are prevented from modifying any portion of the Schedule of Values that have already been invoiced. For work orders that have been won, you can only modify the schedule of values if they have the Modify SOV After Opportunity is Won permission. It is available by selecting Master Schedule of Values from the Moredrop-down on the Opportunity screen only for won Fixed Price Open Billing work orders.

Screen capture of the Master of Schedule of Values screen with the options menu openedTo see the original schedule of values for the master work order or the individual change orders, drill into the work order or change order, and click the Edit Schedule of Values on the Estimate screen.

Editing of the Master Schedule of Values behaves the same as the Schedule of Values screen. However, the portions of the schedule of values that have already been invoiced are read-only to prevent any users from modifying them.

The following list summarizes the editing capabilities of the Master Schedule of Values screen:

  1. You can delete line items as long as there is nothing invoiced for that line item.
  2. You can add new line items.
  3. You can rename line item descriptions, if:
    • They are not linked to a service.
    • Nothing has been invoiced for the line item.
  4. You can move funds from one line item to another given the amount to be moved does not exceed the invoiced amount.
  5. If the item is linked to a service, you can adjust the item’s total price.
  6. If the item is not linked to a service, you  can make the following adjustments depending on whether the item has been invoiced:
    • If the item has been invoiced, you can only adjust the quantity.
    • If the item has not been invoiced, you can adjust both the quantity and the unit price.
  7. You can delete groups given there is no schedule of value items within that group that has already been invoiced.
  8. You can add new groups.
  9. You can rename groups.
  10. You can sort groups and items.
  11. You can move items between groups.
  12. When adding new items or modifying an existing item, Aspire displays an error if you try to use the same description and unit price as another item on the screen.
  13. When modifying groups, Aspire displays an error if you try to repeat a group name.
  14. You can Export & Prin the Master SOV from the drop-down Options menu in the upper right-hand corner.

The Master Schedule of Values screen (available from the Opportunity screen) differs from the Net Schedule of Values screen (available by drilling from the Schedule of Value screen under the Estimate screen) as follows.

  • Allows editing of the Master Schedule of Values for the won work order and all won change orders.
  • Provides columns showing amount invoiced and percent invoiced for each schedule of value line item and group.

Net Schedule of Values screen

  • Consolidates the Schedule of Values for the work order and all change orders (even if not won).
  • Does not support updating of the Schedule of Values.
  • Does not show invoicing information.
