Performing Estimates

At some point in the sales process, the company determines that it is time to generate an estimate on an opportunity to provide a customer proposal showing the price for the work. At this point in time, you must select the Create Estimate option on the Opportunity screen. Choosing this option immediately displays the Estimate Screen from which you can create the estimate. In addition, it changes the status of the opportunity from New to Bidding after which time, the View Work Order Estimate...Opportunity Detail screen next to the Estimated amount allows you to update the estimate at a later date.
If the opportunity was created from a previously saved template, by copying an existing estimate, or by initiating a renewal of a previous year’s estimate, then before displaying the Estimate screen, Aspire displays a screen having four options from which you can choose how the new estimate should be created relative to the original template or opportunity as shown here:
