Article summary

Supported file types for uploads

To reduce the risk of malicious file uploads, Aspire limits which file types are supported across the system. These restrictions were first introduced as part of our ongoing platform security improvements.

This article outlines the file types that are currently allowed. You can use this as a reference when uploading attachments to Items like opportunities, work tickets, Properties, and invoices.

Note:

If your organization requires a file type that isn’t listed below, contact AspireCare to request a review.

Blocked file types

Files that contain code, executable content, or sensitive configuration data are blocked for security reasons. This includes:

  • .exe, .bat, .com - Executable files

  • .js, .php, .asp, .aspx - Web/server-side code

  • .dll, .sh, .sql - Scripts and binaries

  • .key, .pem, .crt - Certificate files

  • .tmp, .partial, .download - Incomplete or temporary files

Why some formats are excluded

In general, we block file types that pose high security risks or are unlikely to be relevant in landscape, construction, or back-office workflows. If you encounter a specific file type that your team uses regularly but isn't supported, we recommend converting it to a common supported format, such as .pdf, .docx, or .xlsx.
