Mandatory Workflow Change

This change will automatically apply to all customers. Review the new workflow and update your team training before the release date.

Administrators can now control all Aspire Mobile features in a new Mobile configuration section in User Role settings.

User roles and crew features listed with checkboxes for mobile application settings.

What's changing with role-based mobile feature permissions?

Previously, Administrators could not specify what features were available to each Aspire Mobile user role. A new Mobile section now displays in Administration > User Management > User Roles, giving administrators granular control over which crew features each role can access in the app.

Before and after

Before (current)

  1. Administrators cannot control feature access for each user role.

  2. Feature visibility is controlled by scattered, non-mobile-specific permissions. For example, equipment features are controlled by the View Equipment permission shared with Aspire Cloud.

  3. No dedicated mobile configuration area exists in Administration.

After

  1. Go to Administration > User Management > User Roles and select a role that needs the updated crew permissions.

  2. Expand the new Mobile section to view Crew Features toggles.

  3. Turn features on or off — including Daily Plan, Ticket Schedule, Open Issues, Time Tracking, Alerts, Time Log, Request Equipment Service, Equipment Inspections, Partial Occurrence, and View Client Contact Information.

Impact: Administrators can tailor the mobile experience to each role, reducing clutter for users who don't need certain features and improving focus for crews in the field.

Note

Existing permission configurations are automatically migrated to the new Mobile section. Users retain their current access — this is a UI reorganization, not a permission reset.

How to prepare

  1. Review your user roles: Go to Administration > User Management > User Roles and review the new Mobile section for each role. Existing permissions are migrated automatically, but confirm that the correct features are enabled for each role.

  2. Update your Aspire Mobile app: Ensure all field devices are running the latest version of Aspire Mobile.

  3. Update training materials: Revise crew leader and crew member onboarding guides to reflect the new navigation layout and menu drawer location.

  4. Train your team: Conduct hands-on sessions with crew leaders and field staff, focusing on the new menu icon location and the relocated Alerts bell.
