What's changing with navigation preferences?
Previously, the bottom navigation bar was static — every user saw the same features in the same order. With the new Navigation Preferences screen, users can drag and drop features between an "Active" section (showing which features are pinned to the bottom navigation bar) and a "More" section (showing which features are accessible from the menu). This puts each user's most important tools one tap away, and the available features are determined by what their administrator has enabled for their role.
Before and after
Before (current)
Bottom navigation bar shows the same features for all users.
Users cannot reorder or customize which features appear.
Less-used features clutter the primary view.
After
Tap the menu icon, then select Navigation Preferences.
Drag features between Active and More sections.
A live preview of the bottom navigation bar updates as you make changes.
Rearrange the order to best fit your daily workflow, then select Save.
Impact: Each user can configure their mobile experience around their daily workflow, keeping their most-used features front and center.
Note:
Navigation Preferences must be enabled by an administrator in Administration > Configuration > Application before users can access this feature.
