Opportunity Lost Reason
What’s New
Aspire now offers enhanced opportunity management tools to help your business better track and analyze lost opportunities. The updated Set Opportunity to Lost modal allows you to choose a predefined lost reason—managed by administrators via a dedicated search list—ensuring consistent data capture. Advanced search enhancements let you filter, group, and sort opportunities by lost reason, while audit reports capture these details for sharper insights.
Key Features
Set Opportunity to Lost Modal: You can select a predefined Opportunity Lost Reason when marking an opportunity as lost, and if the Require Opportunity Lost Reason setting is enabled in the Application configuration, you must select a reason before proceeding.
Opportunity Lost Reason Search List: Administrators can create, edit, and manage reasons for lost opportunities.
Advanced Search Enhancements: Filter, group, sort, and display opportunities by Opportunity Lost Reason.
Opportunity Audit Report: View lost opportunity reasons and dates for tracking trends and refining sales strategies.
Lost Reason Note Field: Replaces the previous Lost Reason field, preserving historical data while allowing additional notes.
Requirements
You must have the following permissions to use these enhancements:
Lose Opportunities: Grants access to mark opportunities as lost.
Require Opportunity Lost Reason: This setting can only be enabled if at least one active reason exists in the Opportunity Lost Reason search list.
Managing the Opportunity Lost Reason Search List
Go to Administration > Application > Lists.
Open the Opportunity Lost Reason search list.
Add, edit, or deactivate reasons as needed.
Ensure at least one active reason exists if the Require Opportunity Lost Reason setting is enabled.
New Application Configuration setting
The Require Opportunity Lost Reason setting requires users to choose a predefined reason from the Opportunity Lost Reason list when marking an opportunity as lost. Aspire stores the selected reason for reporting and auditing. The Lost Reason Note field remains available for optional comments.
Updated Set Opportunity to Lost modal
On the Opportunities Search List screen or an opportunity screen, select Lost to open the Set Opportunity to Lost modal. This modal allows you to select a reason from the Lost Reason list, which is managed in the Opportunity Lost Reason search list. You can also specify a competitor, add optional notes in the Lost Reason Note field, and set a follow-up flag. The follow-up option allows users to create a future opportunity with key details carried forward.
Notes:
The Lost option is available only if you have the Lose Opportunities permission.
If the Require Opportunity Lost Reason setting is enabled in Application Configuration, you must select a Lost Reason before marking the opportunity as lost.
